Citralopram and breastfeeding

I've got a 6,5 month old and I've been prescribed citalopram, I need to take them to help get my mood up but I'm worrying about the risk of some of it being passed threw my milk to dd.
Has anyone else taken them while breast feeding and were there any changes to your dc.

Its only a low does 10mg but the Dr said it might be increased in a few weeks.

Citalopram is one of the drugs regularly prescribed for bf mothers.

I looked this up on the breastfeeding network when I started bf and it's fine. The max recommended dose nowadays is 40mg and even that's fine.

I took 40mg citalopram daily throughout both my pregnancies. I BF to 18mo with ds1, ds2 is now 3mo and i plan to continue. I was reassured by my consultant obstetrician there was no harm to baby in utero or after birth bar slight risk of withdrawal if you stop the drug suddenly cos a little bit of the drug goes into the milk. It is a tiny amount and if you wean baby gradually off the boob or stop the drug as recommended by a doctor there will definately be no problem

Saner mummy here with citalopram so benefits for my ds' massively outweigh teeny potential risk of problems.
