hi my 6 week old girl is constantly upset and hungry,she gags when having her feed and has had really runny poo for a couple weeks now,she also has a rash round her mouth and sounds ruckely and snotty after her feeds.i tried infocol and give her aired water each day.also she is having around 6-7 ounce every 3 hours but crys and arches her back each time?

sorry I forgot to add that I did try her with cow and gate comfort for 2 weeks but she was even hungrier and up more day and night.i have put her back to normal c&g now still no change though :(

Congratulations on the birth of your baby

I can see that you are a bit concerned so pop her to your health visitor next week

In the meantime try feeding her each time she asks, 6 weeks is very young to be expected to go 3 hours between feeds

I wouldn't bother with water, it's not needed and can make some babies poorly. Just first stage formula milk is fine, as often as needed. Might be two ounces, then an hour later another two, then a couple of hours later, four ounces.

Regarding the gagging, maybe try a slower teat?

Cows milk protein intolerance? Discomfort when feeding, bowel disturbance, fussy behaviour, skin issues.....
