Poor feeding after 8 week vacs

Hi,

Just wanted to know if this is normal. My DS had his 8 wk vaccinations this morning including the new meningitus one. He hasn't been overly sleepy but has strangely been screaming at the breast most of the day. Although during his last feed he latched on but his sucking wasn't very efficient, just like he was comfort sucking and not intending to try and drink any milk. Is this normal? Justbworried as have recently introduced a bed time bottle and just hoping it isn't some kind of breast refusal.

Hi op hope lo is feeling a bit better.
Have you taken his temperature, fever is very common after the men b. Fever may put lo off feeding.

Keep an eye on his temp, follow the guidelines regarding the doses of paracetamol. Follow your gut instincts, get lo checked if you can't control the temp or lo becomes dehydrated.

Have given the calpol as suggested. I noticed he got cranky as it started to ware off and was due his next dose so I think he was running a fever. However he happily took 5 oz of his formula bedtime bottle. So, hope he was just grumpy when bfing before. Will have to reassess tomorrow. He is now asleep. Strange as my DD slept all day after vacs but this lovely DS has had trouble with sleep today. The over tiredness meant it took me two hours to rock him to sleep tonight. My arms are killing, wish I could find a better way :) Oh, the joy, still hoping it's not bf refusal.

Hope your night was not too bad op, glad to hear lo took some feed of some sort Smile the Rotarix can also give them slight tummy upset and interesting poo too.
