Eating more at night

My5 month old is definitely eating more at night than in the day. I read the page on kellymom about it but it doesnt say what happens next - will he just grow out of it? Do i need to do anything?

I do offer a lot during the day but now hes starting to get annoyed about it, which just means time spent being grumpy which is not fun. However ido t want to stop offering if it reinforces eating more at night (were up every 2 hrs and have been for about 2 months, lost the longer stretch of 3-5 hrs at start of night).

I just wondered if anyone else has had this and what happened next?
Thanks :)

Is he distracted during the day feeds op? I found that at 5 months my dd started to become really distracted and would pull off to look at anyone and anything else in the room. Feeding somewhere quiet might help if you've not already tried this?

He'll be moving to solids soon so if it's to do with hunger then introducing solids should help.

In my case my dd is still up every 2 hours during the night (8 months) but I think this is partly because she isn't interested in solids and partly because she has learnt to crawl/stand up recently so we've never really recovered from the 4 month sleep regression!
