Night time confusion

My 9 week old daughter has started going longer stretches at night but I am a bit confused about when to feed her. She starts fussing up to 3 hours before she seems to get really hungry and even longer before she cries!

For example last night she fed at 9pm then went to sleep. About 1am I was aware of some rooting movement and noises and expected her to wake up soon to want to feed but next thing it was 3am and she was doing the same and then finally 4am before she was really rooting around and I got up to feed her. Even then she only fed 10 minutes - and then woke again at 5:50 and fed another 10 minutes. At no point did she cry.

Now if I'd got her out of the crib at 1am I bet she would have fed but as she wasn't even crying by 4am was it okay to leave her till then? I don't want to stress her out but others tell me their baby's sleep through so not sure if this is okay.

Any thoughts?

I'd just leave her until she is getting cross at night (whereas in the day I'd feed at first signs). But both of mine were the type to let their displeasure be known.

Thanks - just didn't want to be distressing her!

My 9 week old sometimes does the same, I think that he wakes up and the rooting around gets him back to sleep.
