Baby sick after bedtime formula.

DD is 3 months old and breast fed. I try to express but sometimes have to leave a bottle of formula as top-up with baby sitters.

She isn't a very sicky baby, just a little spit up when winded. She's had formula in the daytime no problem.

Last night she had 6 ounces of formula at about 10:00pm and when I went in at 4:30am she had been sick loads during the night. It's left a yellow stain. I realised this happened last time she had a bottle at bedtime, although it was only 4 ounces and there was less sick come morning.

Any ideas why it's making her sick? Too much for her tummy? Hasn't been winded properly? I just find it strange it's happened 2x at bedtime but never during the day? Also any spit up after bfeeding doesn't stain yellow like this? Thanks.

Would keeping her upright for a bit after her bedtime bottle help or could you prop up the top of her cot?

Is she drinking more than she needs? I remember bottle feeding my ds and he would drink way too much as it comes out faster than breast and would in turn be sick. ITry reducing it to 5oz and see what happens.

She had been waking up sooo much in the night I thought I'd try formula one more time. Gave infacol before, she only took 2 oz, winded her afterwards. This was at 3:30am. At 8:30am we had projective vomit over me / my bed Sad Looks like that tub of SMA is going in the bin.

I'm getting on well with breastfeeding so it's not an immediate problem, but she'll need to be on formula for going to nursery in December. Now I'm too scared to try her on it because I feel so guilty making her sick Sad
