I was just wondering how to become a bf counsellor... I'm interested because i feel very strobgly that many women get really poor advice or little help from other sources about bf. What does it involve? thanks.

Call NCT enquiry line 0870 444 8707 and ask for a pack about becoming a bfc - all the other organsations will have something similar, too.

If you don't want to become a counsellor (takes 2-3 years) you can become a peer supporter in lots of areas - ask your midwife if there is a training scheme. This typically takes maybe three months.

Or Breastfeeding Network and Association of Bf mothers do a Mother Supporter training, which can then lead on to more extensive training - I think the Mother Supporter training is about a year, but I may be wrong.
