Slow weight gain

My DD was born weighing a healthy 8llb 2oz, but at 9 weeks she only weighs 9llb 11oz.
My HV is not worried in the slightest cos dd is a happy wee thing, so I am not really worried either, but I wondered if anyone out there has a similar with their little ones as all the mothers I know up here have great heavy 12pounders!
I am sure I am feeding her enough, I feed on demand and sometimes wake her up to feed, well rouse her anyway, and she always takes it.
She sleeps right through the night (down at 9 up at 8-9) so we have a feeding frezy until lunch time, up to three feeds by 1pm. Then about three more over the course of the afternoon. All sounds ok?
But yet she is still just a little thing whilst all her peers are so much bigger.
Again I am not really worried just would like to hear from people who have dealt with the same.
Just fancy a chat really!!

My ds was a very big baby but put on weight very slowly thereafter. However, he was gaining - he dropped through a couple of centiles but continued to grow. He was always bright eyed and alert, so, because he was my second baby I had to confidence to stop getting him weighed! it sounds as if you're doing fine. So long as she's alert and cheerful and feeding, just keep on with what you're doing! Very jealous of the sleeping through the night, though. My dd was 5 and ds was4 before that happened!

Hi - With that kind of night time sleeping I think your HV is right not to worry!! My DD is 13 weeks and now weighs 12lb 6oz. She was born 8lb 11oz. Last time I had her weighed was at 8 weeks and she was 11lb 2oz. So like yours, she's gaining weight but slowly and is moving down the percentile charts.

HV again said not to worry as she is happy but I've got to go back next week. I went today (this is my second baby so I've not had her weighed very much!!) because I have a feeling my milk supply is dropping. I've got to try to feed her a lot more and drink guinness!!

Anyone know of any milk producing super foods??!

i wish he slept like yours though, hes now going 4 hours at night which is lovely, im sure he'll get there though.

Wishingchair, apparently fennel stimulates milk production. Fennel tea is quite nice.

I have been drinking a banana smoothie that was recomended by my MV unit.
It is two pints milk, 3 Bananas and 3 crushed brewers yeast tablets.
I cut it down to one pint, 1 banana and two tablets and it makes quite a nice mix.
DH is convinced it is power food for me, and her!

I Know, I can't believe the sleeping! I keep thinking it won't last!
And your right WWW, I will get so much more wear out of her clothes.
My mum says not to buy anymore cos she will grow out too soon, but I am not so sure, and I have so few outfits. She is still in Newborn, from Mackays!
All gift givers felt the same way and bought 3-6 months figuring I would have loads of 0-3, instead I had very little babygros in 0-3, nevermind outfits!
