Hi all,
Dd bfs twice a day. She eats three full meals plus snacks (always eats loads). These are all reasonably healthy, including protein, and fruit and veg with every meal and for most snacks. She has at least a yogurt or some cheese in addition to bfs each day, to make up her dairy intake.
All the advice I've read online (kellymom etc) suggests I don't need to give her any extra milk, and in fact extra milk can be harmful in large amounts, due to reduced iron absorption.
She shows no sign of wanting extra milk, though she'll have it if it's given in a sippy cup. She's just in the 25th centile weightwise but has gained steadily since birth.
I don't think she needs any extra milk but MiL thinks diferently and keeps topping her up with cow's milk when I'm not around, despite me telling her clearly twice now it's not necessary. She is not a fan of bfing past six months, so I wonder if the cow's milk is a passive agressive protest....
Any advice welcomed...TIA!
