Does he need to have water?

DS is 5.5 months and breast fed. He also has breakfast and lunch "meals" (not sure they are really that yet, but I'll call them that anyway).

When he was just bf, I know he didn't need to have any water, but does he now? As he's not keen on bottles, should I try introducing him to a beaker? MIL asked if he was having water from a spoon yet - should I be doing that?

I offer dd water in a beaker when she has solids more to get her used to it but not at any other time.

I think you need to start to offer it at "mealtimes", if just to get them used to taking fluids from a cup/beaker - I did with my BF DS although he still doesn't take much at 9mo so I always offer a breast feed as well.
