Bottle feeding - How to make up bottles?

Hi need some help please.
I want to move onto bottle feeding now and confused about how to make bottle feeds up. I have seen some many different ways people do it so want to know the best and quickest approach. Do I have to stand by the kettle waiting for it to cool once boiled or can I used straightaway?!
Also how do I prepare the bottles for when I go out? Can I use my bottle warmer still to re-heat like I did with breast milk? Thanks.

Hot water (70 degrees+) onto powder to kill bugs. If you add half the water v hot or boiling, then cold water to top it up then it should be around the right temp.
Not sure on warming up for out of the house. Technically you should make each feed to order so there wouldn't be a made up bottle to heat.

It is important to mix the powder with water that is 70° or more. A full kettle, boiled, will be fine for half an hpur before it is too cool.

Bottles can be made as above and chilled and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

I make four at a time and store. When they are needed I run them under the hot tap to take the chill off (i dont warm the bottles my kids drank them cool/room temp).

If Im off out for the afternoon I usually feed before I leave and take a premade bottle in my bag and just serve as is when needed.

If you're going out you could make a bottle up fresh, and then cool it as quick as you can. Then you can keep it in a cool bag if you're going to use it soon (within 2 hrs I think?). Or you could make a fresh bottle up when you're out, or take ready made cartons just for going out. Your baby might be happy to take the bottles cold or at room temp, so you might not have to warm them - worth a try.

Check out the tommy tippee perfect prep machine if you can - saves a lot of hassle. Otherwise the instructions to make up formula are on the packet - this gives you the proper method to follow. If you've seen people making bottles with cool water then that's NOT the method to follow-formula powder needs to be sterilised with hot water (70 degrees or so) and then the bottle cooled so the baby can drink it.

Going out...cartons and a sterilised bottle are easiest. And if your baby will take room temp milk then that saves you having to warm it when out...unless of course it's winter and the carton has got cold in your bag!

hi I use the prefect prep machine and with working with children for 7 years before having my own I have found it so much easier, if you are looking to use a kettle then u will have to let it stand for a little time I have picked all lots of different ways of making bottles and the easy way I found was to heat the cooled boiled water then cooling hot boiled water.

The important thing is that the formula must be added to the really hot water as that's what kills the bacteria. What I do when I'm out and don't have the perfect prep is to take a flask of boiling water and separate cooled boiled water.
I put 1-2oz of boiling water in the bottle, then add the formula and then top it up with cooked boiled water. That way, the bacteria is killed before you add the cool water but then it's at the right temperature to drink within a few minutes so no waiting for it to cool.

For example - a 5 Oz bottle I would put an Oz of boiling water in then the powder and then top it up to 5.5 Oz mark with the cooled water (as the formula takes up room in the bottle so it's really 5oz of water I've put it).

I know a lot of people thing it's just that the water has to be sterile so dissolving the formula in the cooler boiled water is ok but it's the heat that kills the bacteria so the important bit is that the powder goes into the very hot water.
