Hello my dd is nearly 3 months old and breastfed. Recently I have been experiencing waves of nausea as I feed her! I'm hoping it's just a coincidence ....... has anyone else experienced this?

are you eating and drinking enough?

Previous thread here
Hope it can help you

i was on that previous thread - i do think its odd. no one has ever mentioned it to me but it was significant and always at the start of the feed. is it the same for you?

daisymum · 16/11/2006 19:18

thanks for the previous thread, it helps to know it's not uncommon. i'll try eating something before feeding and see if that helps. diet will start some other time i guess!

I used o get a wave of what felt like anxiety/ beginning of a panic attack quite a lot when dd was small. Realised after a while that it always happened a minute or so before a let down. Was quite useful at times if I had forgotten to put a pad in my bra!!!! Once I stopped getting those leak causing surges it stopped so I presume that it was a hormone surge or something. Dd now 1 and bfing first thing and bed time. I still feel a let down most feeds but haven't had that butterfly feeling for months! Hope you feel better soon and it isn't spoiling your bf experience!

If I'm eating when I start a feed I get a horrible full feeling in my stomach that I can't eat anymore so I have to wait until it passes and then continue. I've had it on my other kids too.

With ds2 (my third) I got the nausea/panicky feeling that jinglebellgianbun describes, and that feeling that Apmum describes. I don't remember having it with the other two

i haven't read all the answers to this question, but just for added reasurance i too felt nausea every time i fed ds when he was little. Still do sometimes, have no idea why. He was a year old yesterday.
