Do EBF babies need water?

I didn't BF DC1 and he had cooled, boiled water from about 4 months.

What is the deal with EBF baby? (currently 5 months old)

Cheers.

No

No, if your baby is exclusively breastfed they don't need extra water. Breastmilk is bloody amazing & will give them everything they need!

No, I didn't give DD water until we started weaning at 6 months.

I was told no because it had no real nutritional benefit. Everything the baby needs is in the mother's milk until you start weaning at 6 months.

As the previous posts have said, they don't. If they weather is hot, keep up your own fluid intake. You might find they ask to feed more often, apparently your milk will adjust to be more thirst quenching.

Good to know. I am quite a big water drinker anyway but that's really interesting about BM adjusting to being more thirst quenching.
