lost 10% weight since birth?

Baby is now 4 days old, i have been breastfeeding him and it seems to have been going well now we have established the latching part. Last night he fed almost every hour and has fed alot today inbetween sleeps. My breasts have suddenly become fuller today although not leaky just a bit tingly so guessing my milk has come in. This is baby 4 and the longest i have breast fed as nomally struggle after a day or so (gets sore) but i really really want to give this a go.
Had him weighed this morning and disappointed to discover he has lost 10% of his birth weight :( MW wants to weigh him again tomorrow and says we may have to top him up with formula if his weight is down again tomorrow. I am hoping all these extra feeds today and my milk coming in will make a difference for tomorrow.
Anyone else had similar and how long did it take before exclusively BF again?

Yes had v similar situation with both my dc. As soon as my milk came in we never looked back so just feed and feed today and overnight, as soon as your baby gives the slightest hint they're hungry. I'm sure you'll be fine, but I know how hard it is to stay confident in your feeding capabilities when this happens !

I had the exact same too - think my milk didn't come in until day 4/5, so we had about 10% loss too. The midwife was really pressuring me to top up with expressed milk or formula so I just lied and said I was. I knew my DD was doing well - plenty of wet and dirty nappies, happy and alert, good skin colour, not dehydrated. So I told the midwife I was topping up with about 10/20ml after each feed, even though I wasn't. I just ensured we had plenty of feeds (I was doing on demand, and would wake baby if it had been more than two hours from the start of the last feed), did both breasts, and had lots of skin to skin etc. Baby regained birth weight by day 13 and everyone was happy.

My DD was exactly the same. She nearly a pound and a half in the first week of her life. She took until she was eight weeks old to get back to her birth weight. Luckily I had an excellent midwife who called three times in one day to help me get a proper latch. I was also advised to increase the number of calories (thick milkshakes, milky puddings/ sauces) I was eating. I know some people don't agree, but for me it really worked. It is also an easy thing to try. My milk definitely looked less watery. I never topped her up with a bottle and continued breast feeding exclusively until she was over 7 months old. Good luck OP.

Milk has Def come in now breast are solid and tender. He has been feeding loads today and just been leaving him on until he comes off. Fingers crossed for increased weight gain tomorrow

Mw came weighed him. He has put on 2oz since yesterday so really turned a corner :) not surprised though after all his feeds plus milk has really come in. Bf is painless now which is lovely and he is going slightly longer between feeds (rather than 10 mins to an hour yesterday) he is going for more 1-2 hours now so a lot better!!! Fingers crossed for a session of sleep longer than 30 mins tonight!

I had a similar situation. My DD lost 11% on day 3. I then breastfed her almost 24/7, but it got worse - she lost 14%. We then had to use formula supplement to boost her weight. So for the first week, I breastfed for at least 20-30 mins and then gave her formula supplement. I double pumped each time for 20mins to empty the breasts and help the milk production. In the second week, I gradually reduced the formula supplement and replaced it by expressed milk. In the third week, I started to stop supplement during the day and keep the 1 formula supplement and 2 expressing supplement at night. In the 4th week, I then managed to go back to exclusive breastfeeding.
