Sterilising after 6 months?

With DS1 I mixed fed, and sterlised bottles, teats etc till about 9 months. DS2 now 5m 3 1/2 weeks. Whilst I was preg the 2nd time I was told that you only need to sterilise up to 6 months. He is putting everything in his mouth now so I suppose it would be sensible? I can't wait to get without the big cold water sterilising container that seems to have been on my draining board for ever and get it back to its original use of cake box!! So can anyone advise whether I can actually stop sterilising in about 4 days???? Have only been using milton tabs and cold water. Thanks.

Thanks RTK! Its a bit of a long thread to read it all but scanned it and between the premature baby parents and families in New Zealand I reckon I'll be baking cakes to fill that tub tomorrow!
Thanks for the help. Whoooppeeee. x
