cows milk

So my dh asked yesterday if at 12 months we just swap to cows milk from formula and I wasn't really sure!

What's the best way to transition? Formula in a cup then swap to warmed (not fridge cold) milk or milk in a bottle then swap to cup?

ds is 10 months and will only take 2 bottles of formula morning and evening. He happily drinks water from a cup with snacks and meals.

Thanks in advance!

Friends of mine basically reduced formula by an ounce a week and upped the cows milk by an ounce. Week 1 - 7oz formula. Week 2 - 6oz formula, 1oz cows milk. Week 3 - 5oz formula, 2oz cows milk etc.

Cold full fat milk in a free flow cup. Simples.

I just switched to cows milk in bottles. Once mine moved to cups for milk they stopped drinking it. Wouldn't worry about ditching the bottle at 12 months as long as they only have it to drink and then it is taken away

Yep!

We did what stinkersmum's friend did!! I have heard lots of stories from friends that they stop drinking then milk when you swap to a cup so will be doing the same for dd2 when the time comes.

DD1 loves her cold cows milk. She still drunk loads of it and she is 4 now. She has a cup every meal and even when out she gets milk for her drink.

We were going to do it gradually but thought "sod it" and gave him a bottle of warm cows milk. He was fine. We switched to a cup in the mornings at around 13 months and he just stopped having morning milk. He still has his milk warm in a bottle at night and he's 17 months.
