Subjected to inane tv in the gym,saw ad for said product, and summat along the lines of
'You've given him C&G all along to help him grow so why stop now??'

Yeah, why stop being completely and utterly ripped off for even longer than you already have been, you dullard of a mother???

I checked out the price this afternoon.

JoolsToo · 07/11/2006 22:45

You really should try and get a refund from that charm school moondog.

lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:46

am actually really offended...

moondog · 07/11/2006 22:47

Er,it's not my viewpoint but obviously that of the people who market it.

(Fancy you dropping by JT!)

I dont think moon meant being a dullard for FF, but, for buying "growing up milk"...

lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:48

sounds like your viewpoint.....that is certainly the way it came across

it is actually a bit cheaper than the initial formula

lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:49

are you talking about follow on milk or something else...either way...it is the implication that anything other than breast feeding is not acceptable.... ripped off ? in whos opinion....if you can;t breast feed...what should you buy?????

moondog · 07/11/2006 22:49

What's the matter with regular milk?

How have they now managed to persuade parents of strapping toddlers that they need some over packaged over priced product???

OP posts:
moondog · 07/11/2006 22:50

Lulu...
this is not about breast versus formula.

OP posts:
Quootiepie · 07/11/2006 22:50

lulu - this milk is for 1+

lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:52

ooops... i seee......tis not follow on milk....still object to the dullard thing thouhg!

WhizzBangCaligula · 07/11/2006 22:52

Oh FGS growing up milk is not about breast v formula. It's about an unnecessary over-priced product. If your toddler is 14 months old and you're not breastfeeding him/her, then plain plain old full fat cows milk is perfectly acceptable, unless there is some reason why s/he can't tolerate that (allergy or whatever).

Growing up milk is all about marketing.

lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:53

sorry x post.....and i withdraw my previous comments !

moondog · 07/11/2006 22:55

WhizzBangCaligula · 07/11/2006 22:56

OMG looks like a row has diffused in record time.

Lulu, can't you just keep on arguing? Just for the sake of it? Just until the morning crowd get in and keep the thread going?

lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:56

so...do we sit here and wait now for some other poor soul to get het up and then sigh at them>>

moondog · 07/11/2006 22:57

lol Cal.

So....is this a new thing then????

(The 'growing up' nonsense, not the diffusing of dingdongs.)

OP posts:
lulumama · 07/11/2006 22:57

no can do caligula.... i am a gentle & reasonable Lulu and will always back down if in the wrong.....! sorry!!!

Quootiepie · 07/11/2006 22:59

I saw it advertised a few months back, and me in my preMN days thought I had to buy it when DS was 1... now I know better

moondog · 07/11/2006 22:59

Admit it Lulu...you buy 'growing up' milk, dontcha???

DONTCHA???

OP posts:
WhizzBangCaligula · 07/11/2006 23:00

No I think it's been around for quite a while now. I can't remember seeing it when my youngest was 1 (3 years ago) but then again, I avoided all baby shops and only bought the bare minimum baby shite that I had to, so maybe I wasn't looking.

It is such a clever idea, to extend the period children "have" to have overpriced shite to drink instead of normal milk. And I wonder how active HV's will be in telling mothers to FGS not waste their money on the bloody stuff.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/11/2006 23:00

Money Money Money....

lulumama · 07/11/2006 23:00

i don't...babylulu has organic cows milk....but i could pretend to and you could inuslt me and we could turn it into a personal attack and one of us could flounce?
