How long until baby latches easily?

My baby is able to latch on to both breasts (although the right is much easier) and there is normally a bit of fussing before he goes on. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes or so to get him to latch to the left breast and there is normally a bit of crying involved. He is now 10 days old - is this normal? When can I expect him to easily latch on?

Took my baby 2 weeks to learn to latch at all, but has got steadily better - now 7 weeks old. So I'm sure your LO will sort it out too!

Have you been along to a breastfeeding support group? They may be able to show you some positions and techniques to help. Babies do get better and quicker at it, but it really helps to have someone experienced watching you feed.
