Ds has possible silent reflux so need to try a different milk but haven't a clue which .

Have been told Lactose free , but why that as he can't be allergic to Lactose as he doesn't have any rash etc
Or should I try Soya baby milk ?

You can't buy anti reflux in shops can you ?

He is currently on C&G normal one , also he isn't vomiting as he just swallows it back down but is always in agony for hours after a feed , have been using colief since yesterday & were using Gaviscon but I have stopped the Gaviscon as it seemed to make him worse .
Also he is six weeks old and gaining weight properly

TIA Flowers

Poor you and poor lo. The trouble with silent reflux (apart from the screaming) is that it can be caused by many things. It's a symptom rather than a diagnosis and really you need a referral.

Have you heard of Cows Milk Protein Allergy? I have this and have never had a rash either. My DM always reminds me that I screamed 24/7 as a baby.

Have a read of the link and see what you think. If you think it could be an issue your go can prescribe milks like neocate. Soya formula isn't advised for babies so young.

If you don't think it's CMPA, try Cow & Gate comfort.

I'll post some other links in a mo Smile

Have a read of this on tongue tie too and see how many boxes you can tick Smile

You probably know this already but are you keeping lo upright after a feed? A sling is good in the day you can prop the top of the Moses box up at night if he will ever go into it Smile

Don't think it's Tongue Tie as he can't touch his nose with his tongue lol

I have had him on Colief since yesterday evening and have stopped the gaviscon and he isn't as bad now so I think the Gaviscon was making him worse tbh

I do think it's an intolerance to the milk tbh , I didnt get any milk as their are so many choices I felt rather overwhelmed Blush

Unfortunately, that doesn't rule out tongue tie. Did you have a read of both of the links?

Hope you get some rest tonight Thanks

I had a quick read but didn't manage to take it in , will give them a proper read tomorrow. Thanks x

We used Aptimil anti-reflux milk in combination with ranitidine and domperidone from 5 weeks and it's done the trick. We've come off the medicine over the last 2 weeks, and plan over the next 2 weeks to go back into normal Aptimil, ready to start with foods at 17 weeks.
