My 8 week old girl is constantly feeding, i am combination feeding but mostly breast feeding. she has 2 4oz bottles a day but latches on about 8 times a day and drains them both. Is it okay to introduce some boiled water as i think she is sometimes just thirsty?

I would be inclined to say growth spurt perhaps and just go with it for a while.as long as she is happy and satisfied after feeds?8-10 feeds over 24 hours at that age sounds pretty normal to me.

Thirsty still means milk is needed. I wouldn't introduce water at such a tiny age. It will fill her up and give her nothing. Mine fed two hourly for six months. Their tummies are tiny. Sometimes they will feed and all they want is a drink, other times they will have the hind?milk and get a proper meal.

Yes, well within normal. No need for water. If you think she needs it, remember breast milk is something like 90 per cent water anyway :)

It's a hassle to prepare the water and by the time you have done it you could have bf her! Yes, she might be thirsty, esp now, and breastfeeding does the job of hydrating her and nourishing her.

Growth spurt. Just keep boobing away.
