Bottles and travelling

Does anyone have any advice what to do about sterilizing bottles etc when travelling? we are going to Israel in December and I'm not sure how to keep the bottles sterilised when we will be in hotel rooms without microwaves etc for the sterilizer. Many thanks

Hi SusanAust, you can cold sterilise or you can buy disposable bottles they have them in toysrus they are called steribottles and you just throw away after use we found them handy for the odd couple of days away or you can buy an avent travel bottle system you only take the one bottle but lots of presterilised bags which the milk goes in use a different bag for each feed then the bag is then thrown away after and a fresh bag used for each feed. yea but with the presterilised bags you still need to sterilise the teats. THe best way I found was to use Milton, in the tablet form. You just put x amount of water in a bowl,(see the instructuction on the pack) and one tablet, leave the bottles in the water for 15 minutes and the bottles and teats are sterilised. Obviously you have to wash the bottles first.

I used steriliser bags from John Lewis they are plastic bags with a steriliser tablet and you just add water. To me they did not smell as pungent as milton but I could be wrong. You just leave the bottles and teats in the bag until you are ready to use them.

When my baby was in hospital i was told by the nurse not to rinse the bottles after putting them in milton - not sure as they do smell like bleach. I would follow the instructions from the manufactureer.
