Ds (4mo) has been fussing and moaning for the last week about low supply, and since last night keeps refusing to feed but rather just prefers to scream and avoid my nipple as if it's poisoned :-/ I know the problem- my supply drops when my period's due but last time he carried on valiantly trying and feeding more often. So period arrived yesterday (I am one of those unlucky buggers who doesn't get a break from them despite religiously ebf-ing) and supply is returning but he's still not keen. I managed a sleepy bf at bedtime after a few oz's of ebm and woke him for another sleepy bf a few hours later- figured that way he's less likely to protest than if I wait for him to get hungry.
What next?? Do I keep trying to stay one step ahead and feed him while he's half asleep (meaning less sleep for me but more bf's) or wait until he wants it but run the risk of the screaming banshee? I know the probable answer but for how long am I likely to have to second guess him? Is he magically going to decide tomorrow morning that my nipples aren't the enemy or is it going to take a while, and is this going to happen every month??
