Ds is sleeping soundly after his first day with no breast-feeding. When we made it to 6 months of exclusive breast-feeding I put out a message thanking everyone for all their help and advice because I found feeding excruciatingly painful for most of that time - bleeding, blisters, blocked ducts, etc. It was never comfortable but we made it to 18 months. And now I'm planning my first proper night out and subsequent lie-in for 27 months, i.e. since I first found out I was pregnant. Thanks again to everyone. I feel like this has been one of my biggest achievements yet and it was by no means a solo effort. I'll be raising a glass or six to Mumsnet.

Well done you! The day my ds had his last bf (13months old)I felt really sad and posted on MN. It's such an acheivement and you deserve to be very very proud. Have a great night!

...and morning, lunchtime, or afternoon, depending on when you surface!

Pain finishing breastfeeding. After a year of breastfeeding I have reluctantly given up due to a baby who likes to bite ! I've given up slowly, cutting from 3 feeds a day, down to 2, 1, then nothing. It's been about 5 days since my last feed and my right breast is lumpy and painful. Has anyone experienced this? Its very tender around the whole breast and does not seem to be getting better. Is this common or do I need to see a doc?
