Moving from BF to FF at 10 weeks - practical advice

I have decided to move from BF to FF. Baby is 10 weeks and c12lbs.

I have not made the decision lightly. I have loved breast feeding but I know it is the right one for both mine and my baby's happiness.

I need some practical advice on the best way to do this - baby currently has formula overnight so I know has no 'problems' with it but I am unsure if going cold turkey is the right thing to do either for him or for me. My breasts do become painfully engorged if I miss a feed - not sure if I should express? Don't want to encourage more supply. Will he be ok moving directly to formula or should I introduce it more gradually?

All advice gratefully received.

This is just the way I did it and I'm most definitely not an expert. I swapped one feed at a time, leaving the bedtime feed til last. I expressed just enough so it didn't feel unbearable but only for a couple of days. Milk dried up a treat (and I had loads, it was pouring out of me - part of my own reasons for giving up!). But I know other people have problems if they stop so quickly so perhaps you will need to express a bit longer.
DD did not give a toss where the milk was coming from, as long as it was coming from somewhere gannet
Good luck
