Questions about out and about with bottles

this is the first time I've formula fed so I'm a bit clueless. I've got cartons of formula and I got the tomme tippe disposable bottles, tried them yesterday and my babies don't like them. I need to see what I can do for tomorrow. I've read that putting sterilised bottles together was ok for a few hrs?

Any other thoughts?

Hi There

Here's the official advice which has a section on feeding out and about:

www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/212827/2900017-Bottle-feeding-leaflet-v1_0-no-crops.pdf

Hope that helps

a pre sterilised bottle is fine to take out along with a carton.

Depending on how long you'll be out for you can make up a bottle at home then it will be cooling away while you're out and be perfect when time to feed (around 2 hours max).

I use the cartons but used to most take out bottles of cooled boiled water and add the powder when needed. I then found out that was really bad (after having done it for 5 years with all 3 dcs) Blush

You can get the screw on teats too for sma I think. I always used cartons when out, so much easier.

Hi if I think DS1 will need a feed within 2 hours, I make up a bottle and put it in the insulated pouch in my bag. Within 2 hrs it'll either be the right temp or too hot, in which case I'll cool it. Or I'll take an empty sterilised bottle, a ready to drink Aptamil and a flask of hot water to heat it up.
