Hello,

EBF my 9wo DS > what is current vasospasm treatment please?

I live in a s* country for breastfeeding advice and need some help steering my GP in the right direction please.

I've had thrush for 10 days now. Had to have a massive course of antibiotics after the birth so not surprising despite the probiotics. It took 4 appointments to get some miconazole gel which is prescription only and not recommended for under 6mo here (suffocation risk apparently).

Symptoms are getting better now, I'll be applying the gel for 10 more days just in case.

I've started getting vasospasms :( I have Raynaud in my fingers so not surprised. I'm fully expecting my GP not to know what to do. I do the usual "keep warm, no humidity" protocol already but the pain is crazy (like in my fingers really...). So far, I've gathered I need to ask for 200mg of B6 vitamin for 4 days and if it fails to switch to Nifedipine 30mg for 2 weeks. How does it sound? I'm a bit worried to take such a drug tbh...

Thanks a lot for you help

Thanks a lot everyone for your help, I've managed to locate a lactation consultant and will speak to her about my issues. I'm amazed at the differences between countries. My GP this morning hardly new about vasospasm and was very clear he would not prescribe anything for it.

Official UK NICE guidelines here cks.nice.org.uk/breastfeeding-problems#!scenario:1

may help if GP has heard of NICE.
