Sore boob (singular) after giving up b/f feeding cold turkey

So the Peace and Love twins were night feeding for comfort (they were 15m y'day so I think they and I have done VERY well. GrinHmm and I had had enough.

Delighted to be one whole week feed-free. Cold turkey was the only way for night times, but it had been a gradual retreat anyway - they have been on proper solids for months but they don't take a bottle or a cup for milk really so was keeping bf out of laziness really.

So have now weaned them off this and feeling fabulous for it but they were both v fond of the RH boob and it is massively different in size and is q painful.
Can't get a consensus on whether i should be icing/hand expressing/applying hot compress.
All advice gratefully received.
TIA

If it was me, I would keep expressing little bits off, just to be comfortable. Just because the babies go cold turkey, doesn't mean your boobs can!

Ps, my left one is the unanimous favourite in this house. Husband and both sons prefer it! Grin

Agree with expressing a little if you need to keep comfortable, but you don't want to stimulate your supply. Ibuprofen, cabbage leaves might help. Check yourself for any particularly tender areas/lumps, temperature or feeling fluey which could be a sign of mastitis. Hope it settles soon!

Ouch and also amazingly well done Flowers twins til 15 months!

This was me when I weaned at 13 months and I'm afraid I cracked and put dd to the boob for one last quick feed to ease the pain. It worked instantly, I got away with it but am aware many wouldn't so hesitant to recommend!

Heat can stimulate your let down so cold definitely better if you don't want to accidentally boost your supply again. Twins to 15 months... Respect! Smile
