Wondered if anyone has experience of this & if it can be overcome? From v early on my DH has given our baby one expressed bottle early in morning so I can get some more sleep. Otherwise he is breastfeeding but always used to take this bottle happily. But suddenly at 8wks old, DS has been adamantly refusing the bottle'. We use an Avent & have tried slower & faster flow teats to see if it makes a difference, but it hasn't. DH also making sure the milk is nice & warm. Wondered about giving it a break for a few days & seeing if we can come back to it. I'm still really sleep deprived & desperate to have that morning sleep!

Maybe he just doesnt fancy a feed on waking? Neither of mine ever had a bottle first thing - they liked to be up and awake for a good 45mins or so before they would entertain it. DS is 4mo and he wakes at half seven but refuses a bottle til 9am.

It turns out it is just a 'I want Mummy' thing. He took a bottle v happily from me yesterday but screamed again with my husband when I was sleeping this morning. DH does wait a few hours until he's hungry but to no avail! Hopefully DS will allow Daddy to feed him again one day before too long!
