What bottle/cup to use?

My DS is 7 months old and have been BF him until now but feel time is right for both of us to start weaning him off breast and on to formula. Not sure if he should have formula from bottle or cup or what really. I give him water with his meals from a Tommee Tippee bottle that has a spout thingy that pours straight into his mouth and he can hold himself. Is this ok?

well done you for the cup! i think the sooner they can use a cup the better for their teeth.
ds1 is 15m and still has milk from a bottle but juice form a beaker.
wish mine would use a cup for milk!!

yes - do try and go straight to a cup if you can. otherwise it is quite a job to get them off a bottle (still struggling with my 2.8 year old at night whereas my 1.1. year old is almost off!)
i found the sweet dreamz trainer cup the best (made by Dr. Brown's). you can get it at www.mamatoto.co.uk (quote KF1ZZ140 for free delivery)

Hi
try a doidy cup it is designed for breastfed babies and the topic below discusses it a bit more. (Not sure of my link will work so you may have to copy and paste the relevant bit or do a search for doidy)

yes Doidy Cups are also good, but you have to hold it for them, but much easier than a normal cup. (Also available on mamatoto, i love that site!)
