Hi there!Ds will be 11 wks old in 2 days.Weighs 12 lbs and is on the 50th centile.Being mixed fed.Since the last 2 weeks, inspite of feeding on the breast for ages(i can hear him gulping),he keeps stuffing his fingers into his mouth and crying.I then have to give him a top up and he wolfs down about 6 oz straight. This happens 2-3 times a day. Each time I ask the Hv she says "oh, he is a very hungry baby".i am at my wits end.Me bfing him for ages seems futile.
He has also started waking up more frequently at night.I thought the frequency was going to come down as he got older!
Has anyone of you experienced this and do you have any solutions?

growth spurt. it will pass. most babies will wolf down a bottle of milk if given the chance because it's so easy. if you want to carry on exclusively bf then you can, and he'll be ok, what he is doing is totally normal.
and you never know, the chewing on fingers could be the start of teething too.

so no, he isn't a blimp. just a normal happy growing boy
