Multi-Mam compress and pink milk!

I am having a bit of a panic as have just removed a Multi-Mam compress and expressed a little bit of milk off my right breast so as not to drench DD who has not fed from it for a few hours due to having an unusually sleepy day. To my horror, the milk was pink, like something out of a 'Charlie and Lola' book! Could this be a side effect of the compress or is it blood? I can't see any blood around my nipple. Please help!

If you can't see blood on your nipple it is probably coming from a burst blood vessel in your breast. I don't think it's anything to worry about if its just a one off. When I had blood in my milk from cracked nipples the midwife told me it didn't matter if the baby drank it.

Thank you, Moggle. I'm keeping a close eye on all expressed milk but it hasn't been pink again so hopefully a one-off...
