Tap water for bottles?

This might be a stupid question, but once your baby is over 6 months can you make bottles by mixing formula with a few oz of water above 70 degrees and then top up the concentrated feed with tap water to cool to the right temp to feed? We've been ebf until now so bottles are still a bit of a mystery, thanks!

I've done this since both my kids started bottle feeding at 12 weeks. I always just make sure the formula hits the hot water and is well dissolved, and the cold tap has been running for a minute or so.
