reflux baby. gaviscon Doesn't work anymore

My baby girl has reflux and was prescribed gaviscon just over a week ago but the last couple of days have been as bad as it was before the gaviscon. She doesn't bring up much milk anymore but still screams while feeding sometimes and cries alot after. She goes straight as a bored and squeals in pain this last about an hour or two after being fed. Has anyone else has this? What did you do and what was the outcome? I have a doctor's appointment for me in a few hours but think I might try and get her help while I'm there.

A lot of GPs go straight for ranitidine now and bypass the gaviscon because it often doesn't work. It helped my DS really quickly so it's worth asking.

Gaviscon is crap, IMO. Go back and ask for Ranitidine and see if that helps.

When I went fory appointment I asked doctor to prescribe something else for her. We got ranitidine so I'm hoping this works. Im just struggling with all the screaming after every feed. She went down fine at her half 8 feed but think that's cause she's exhausted. I miss my happy and content baby :(

How old is your DD and is she breast or bottle fed?

I wonder if the crying could be a request for clusterfeeding for a growth spurt?

She is 9 weeks and is bottle fed. We went through a big growth spurt when she was 6 weeks but she just ate more. Just now she is refusing anymore than 2oz in some feeds. I just gave her a feed and she took 5oz it's been a few days since she done that and she's happily went back to sleep on my chest so fingers crossed the ranitadine is working

That's great, it seemed to work quite quickly as I remember.
