How much milk should an 8mo have?

I just can't get DS interested in bf during the day these days. He's virtually dropped all his day feeds Shock But he has a big long bedtime feed and we cosleep so he feeds twice, maybe three times overnight and a long 5:30am feed, which I take as a breakfast feed. Some babies are sleeping through by this point and therefore not getting any milk overnight, so I would guess he's still getting sufficient milk even though he's hardly taking any during the day. What do you think?

So 4 to 5 feeds in 24 hours? Maybe a little on the low side for a breastfed baby but probably fine of he eats well. Make sure he's having a vitamin though.

Hmmmm. My ds is 8.5mo and is bf morning and evening and then has two ff during the day. So probs around the same as yours just at different times! Is he eating three meals a day?

Yes he has 3 meals a day and although is mostly baby led, eats a reasonable amount and has vitamins. He's a healthy chunky boy so I guess he's fine, but I find it disconcerting that he's dropped the bf so quickly!

We are bf and have five feeds and 3 big meals. Dd2 is nearly 9 months.

My DS is 9.5 months and has three breast feeds in a 24 hour period.

I would say that at 8 months old he was probably having about 5-6 but at least two of those were just comfort feeds (I.e not really taking milk) in the middle of the night because he was a crap sleeper and I didn't know what else up do to make him sleep.

I would guess that your baby is definitely getting enough milk if he's having five feeds in 24 hours.
