Switching from BF to FF

As subject suggests I'm looking at switching my 5 week old DD to FF from BF, surprisingly my HV is supportive of this for reasons to lengthy to go into here. Think we've finally found a bottle/teat DD likes, MAM, but is it a case of preserving for her to learn that she doesnt have to work as hard for the milk? She takes a very small amount from the bottle, less than oz, but guzzles and chokes. I want to introduce FF gradually of course but at this rate she'll be 18!!!!

I was in a similar position with DS (now 19wks) BF for 2 weeks then mixed fed for 4 weeks. I expressed and bottle fed BM and gradually increased the amount of formula feeds until he was exclusively FF. It took a few days for him to get used to it, but once he did he was fine. Are you using the smallest size teat? I've just moved up to 2nd stage teat and DS is taking a bit to adjust to it! Guzzling and choking like you say. It is quite a different sucking motion to breast. I would persevere with the bottle she likes best, but do ask your HV for advice - that's what they're there for!

Thanks for the advice! Yes using size(?) 1 teat. I was expressing but haven't done so for a week or two, will try with the MAM bottle tonight.
