1 side at night- uncomfortable!

My 4 month DD has a habit, at night, of taking a full long feed firmly attached to one side. She doesn't do this in the day. I guess it's comfort as she's half asleep or asleep by the end. All the signs are she's satisfied, and my supply means I know there would be milk getting through to the end.
She feeds once or twice a night ... so it can get uncomfortable and leaky for me. One over full boob one floppy!
However I don't want to disturb her eating (she gains slowly and "drifts" down the chart slightly though hcp are not concerned and think she's naturally petite) nor do I want to upset her sleep.

Is there a gentle way of encouraging 2 sides? Or shall I just stuff a muslin up my vest from 11pm till 4am? Grin

Your supply will sort its self out after a few days.

I only ever feed one side due to having too much milk

I'm 4 months in and it's only at night, not by day, so unfortunately it keeps happening!

My DD is five months. She usually will do both in the day and one at night like yours. I don't know why.

I've let her do it because as long as we both go back to sleep, well, that's the best outcome Smile
I don't usually have too much discomfort. Has it always been like this or is it a new thing for your DD?

As long as it's the same breast than is fed off each night it will sort its self out. If you do left one night and right the next the other breast will be uncomfortable in the night.

mcbaby Luckily she feeds twice a night! So I reverse 1st and 2nd feed boob.
