Rash on breasts while breastfeeding, post natal 8days

Hi ladies,
I was wondering If anyone has experienced breaking out in a rash while Breast feeding.
My little lady is 8 days old and yesterday I started to get itchy and
I've now broken out in a rash on the Inside of my breasts.
I phoned up the post natal and spoken to a midwife but because she couldnt see it she told me to go and see my gp which am doing today.
Is it normal when Breast feeding to break out in a rash?

No, it's not usual, and def needs checking out by the GP.

It could be a reaction to soap powder, or heat....breast infection (mastitis) sometimes shows up as redness on the breasts and that is bound to be what the GP considers, if you have other symptoms.

Hope it's ok - not a reason to stop breastfeeding, though, as mastitis and the other possibilities can be treated.
