the boy is biting - biting I tell u!, any ways to stop him doing it? so far i've takent he nipple out of his mouth and said no then waited a few secons and put it back in again - is that right cos he did it twice tonight and once last week as well - so not a huge amount, althou am wanting to stop when he hits 8 months (been saying it for hte past 2 months thou) which is next week, so any quick tips will be greatfuly recieved. ta.

I did similar Munz, although I also but DS down in the cot and ended th feed there and then when he bit me very hard - walked out of the room so I could cry! He seemed to get the message! Hope yopu get it sorted soon

wonder if it's as boy thing? he does bite the teat on his bottle as well.

Ouch, it hurts. I'm sorry. Very sympathetic - ds drew blood whne he only had 2 bottom teeth . I squealed (instinct)& pulled him away. Apparently the way to do it is to pull the biter INTO the breast to make them let go by themselves, which can cause less damage to you. By doing that, you cover their nose so they have to let go & pull away to breathe properly & they learn better that way. I've heard that works really well but, if you can do it when you have teeth sinking into you, you're doing better that I did! The squeal and tears from me were enough to stop it here. Thank goodness!

aww drew blood, u poor thing. we have 2 bottom teeth as well here. might try the pulling in then - althou he seems to bite then let go and look up. (so not convinced he's aware he's done it iucwim?)

could he hold something to chew on in his hand so if he needed to bite whilst bf he could bite on his toy instead.

My 4 mth old ds has been biting since birth. I've tried a lot of things. I was advised by bf counsellor to run my fingernail under the arch of his foot when he bites - he didn't like it so he stopped biting. Worked for a bit - and it could work for you, but then he started again, with a grin. The thing I'm trying at the moment worked for a friend and seems to be working for us, but it's early days.

Having detached him, I stick on a silicone nipple shield immedately and try to convince him to feed. He hates it and gets quite upset. Once I've annoyed him enough (and let him get a bit hungrier too), I take it off and let him finish the feed. Fingers crossed, it's working. Hope you fix it soon!
