I am bf a 10 week old and its officially the longest I've ever breastfed. Going strong! Or so I thought. Haha.

Today I've felt like I'm going to faint all day. My nails keep snapping and flaking. I have been nodding off all day. I drove to a baby group earlier with baby and toddler and when I arrived I felt like I couldn't remember driving there.

My supply seems ok I think it is satisfying dd.

Does anyone have any dietary advice? Or should I just get down the gp as first step?

Sorry - just saw your last post..def see the GP!

I would ask the GP about being tested for thyroid problems. I felt horribly run down about 3 months into BFing - turned out that I had a really overactive thyroid, and apparently it's fairly common post-pregnancy. I felt exhausted the whole time, my hair was falling out in clumps, felt dizzy, was out of breath climbing one flight of stairs, and was really spaced out. Medication sorted it out in a week, and I'm still breastfeeding at 9 months.

Ooooh specialk my mum had an overactive thyroid after having me now that I think of it. I wonder ...

I got a blood request form and some iron tablets but couldn't get down to the hospital to have bloods cause I don't have the car. I'll go tomorrow. I think I'm only being checked for full blood count though.

I'm definitely going to buy calcium today too

I hope you are feeling a bit better. Flowers
Yes fortified oat milk has calcium. The 1+ alpro soya does too and is slightly higher in fat than other milk alternatives.

Thank you george I actually am feeling better today. Just waiting for blood test results now but it's probably just anaemia because I took last night and this morning's iron and feel better. Would it have worked that quickly? I wonder.

I had a really awkward conversation with a relative that I'd been putting off for ages too and that's made me feel psychologically a bit better. Which might have helped!
