hi
when i'm expressing i seem to have 1 boob which produces a lot more milk than the other,(presume this is the same when dd is breastfeeding too), also feels fuller and looks larger! how do i sort this out or is it just something that cant be helped?

I'm the same, put it down to severe case of mastitis on my right side, never been that full since and can be a huge difference in them. If you look up my name you will see a thread I started about it a while ago and lots of tips.

I always think that dd's favourite side seems fuller (left just incase your interested!)

I put it down to the fact she works this side harder and always tries to get back on for more from this side whereas she's not that interested in getting back on the right side

NotQuiteCockney · 12/10/2006 21:55

I think the "good" boob tends to be on the same side as your off hand - right-handed people have a good left boob, lefties have a good right boob.

My left is definately better, DS2 will often refuse to even have any of the "bad" boob.

Flamebat · 12/10/2006 21:55

I think most people have it... on the same lines that most people have one bigger than the other normally. (I don't think that mine is the same one that is bigger is the better one though iyswim).

Flamebat · 12/10/2006 21:56

Yup - my left is good, and I am right handed...

NotQuiteCockney · 12/10/2006 21:57

My better is my bigger. Same boob.

Lact8HisLiverWithANiceChianti · 12/10/2006 21:57

I'm righthanded NQC so that makes sense

NotQuiteCockney · 12/10/2006 21:57

Hmmm, not sure that was english, but you get the gist. Time for bed!

Lact8HisLiverWithANiceChianti · 12/10/2006 21:57

And bigger better here too

squarewolf · 12/10/2006 21:59

I'm right handed and expressed for 8 weeks - and my right boob still produces the "goods" and DS is 22 months old.
I'd guess you're stuck with the way it goes Joorla

TiggernPooh2 · 12/10/2006 22:29

I am right handed and left is the 'good boob'. Thats really interesting NotQuiteCockney.

I'm left handed and my right boob is the larger "good" boob and ds's fave! It's also the one that is best for positioning for feeding side by side, laying in bed. My boy is feeding less and I'm worried about dwindling supply. Maybe I should only feed with this one, and sacrifice the other in order to continue bf? Does anyone know how well this would work?

Try these threads:

1 good boob 1 bad
