DS is 4 and a half weeks and exclusively BF. He has been feeding more on than off for the past 4 hours and crying in between. NOw he has been sick and will no doubt want more. I am feeling drained... literally, and I want to go to bed! What can I do - never known him to feed so much and DD was never like this!

Can you feed him lying down?

oh dear - im afraid we've all been there and you'll have to grin and bear it. Its probably a growth spurt. Take 2 mins, grab some snacks, get comfy and settle down and feed DS. Or, hop into bed with DS and relax, and let him feed away. Do you co-sleep at all? By the way, it will end!

When my DC's had a few days of feeding-frenzy I would camp on sofa during day and prop-up on pillows in bed at night. Things I had to hand were: water; Harry Potter books; TV remote; magazines; pen & paper for making lists (I like making lists ); muslins; breastpads; etc. Then I'd just cosy up as best I could. It'll soon be over!

as others said. it will pass. if you don't co-sleep, this is one occasion where i recommend it.

Co-sleeping is def the best thing ever when it comes to breastfeeding and rest! You really should master the art of it and you will feel the results almost instantly.

Just remember, this is a very short stage and it will pass before you know it. Try and keep your chin up.. your doing a great job.

yes - would agree with everyone else! Go tlo bed and master the art of leeting him feed lying next to you then he can just help himself whenever he wants!

Good luck - hang in there - this stage doesn't last for long, even though it seems like it at the time
