I've got mastitis again haven't i?!

Felt fine when I got up. Pain started to creep in to left breast all morning. Now feel very achey all over like when you've got flu/terrible cold but haven't got either.

I feel quite warm in myself arm no fever as yet. I should phone my gp shouldn't I? Xxx

Yes. I had mastitis and ignored it. Eventually after ABs and then stronger ABs, I ended up in hospital having an abcess drained under GA.

Phone your GP!!!

Yes! My first bout I ended up with sepsis and an 8 day stay in hospital. Phone please x

Our surgery ofers telephone appointments - GP will sometimes prescribe over the phone, particularly for recurring things, or call you in for an emergency appt.

Well you may nerd to see ooh order if gp can phone you and prescribe antibiotics.

But you can treat mastitis without antibiotics. Feed lots, express if you can and baby won't feed. Comb the breast, and compresses can all help. Have a look on kellymom.

I cleared mastitis several times without antibiotics but you are best to have them at home just in case as mastitis can be very nasty.
