Can I do this when bottle feeding?

My little one take on average 3oz per feed but sometimes will want an extra oz so if I have made a 3oz bottle and she is still wanting more at the end can I just make another oz in the same bottle once it's empty? Or do I need to use a new bottle for 1oz ? I don't want to keep making 4oz bottles and waste lots of milk as sometimes she only takes 2oz. She's a snacker and has no real set feeding routine I just go with when she's hungry/ what she wants

I wouldn't reuse a bottle, I don't think. It would only save you one sterilised bottle/teat, with the potential risk of germs breeding in the bottle/teat in the time since it was made up originally. I would also probably just make up 4oz (or whatever) each time and risk a bit of wastage as an unavoidable overhead of feeding on demand.

You can keep a bottle for an hour after she's drunk from it though so I'd make up 4oz at a time and then keep the extra 1-2oz she leaves.

I suppose if you're using it straight away it's not a problem to use the same bottle, but wouldn't it be hard to make 1oz of formula? And hard to get it to the right temperature. I'd just make up bottles with slightly more than she normally takes but let her signal when she's finished.

I very occasionally do this when ds wants more than expected and I've no fresh bottles ready but only if the original milk in the bottle is less than 2 hours old. I rinse the bottle in boiled water too. I think I've done it twice ds is 8 weeks.

Thanks guys... I have done it twice so far by its been no more than 20mins after, I just washed the bottle out with boiling water and add the little extra oz.

If it's only 20mins after and you're rinsing with boiling water that sounds fine to me, as others have said you can keep the milk for 1/2hrs after being made anyway so not much different.
