Working 3 days a week. Can I keep feeding?

DS is 9 months old and mix fed since birth (1-2 ff per 24 hours) and I've suddenly been offered a job for 3 days a week. My DH is dropping a day at work for stress reasons so I can't really turn it down.

DS will be in nursery for 3 full days, I really don't want to finish bf but am I being unrealistic? Has anyone managed to keep feeding. Ideally he'll have formula while in nursery, I've never had much sit with pumping.

Much luck with pumping obvs. He's also weaned so will be eating proper food at nursery too.

I do exactly this. Dd has 1-2 bottles of formula at nursery and I feed her as normal the rest of the time. Hasn't affectes BF at all.

I'm only at work 2 days a week at the moment but I'm adding in another day after Xmas.
We do two feeds before I drop him off (his early morning feed about 5am and then again about 8:30) plus he has breakfast at home, 200ml readymixed formula there, lunch and a small tea there then two more feeds from me when he's home (5:30pm & 7:30pm)

I don't express either because my milk doesn't store well. I haven't needed to express at work - I can feel myself getting quite full by 4pm but I leave to pick him up at 5pm so I manage fine.

I don't think I'll have a problem doing this for my 3rd day when I add it.

It sounds as if it can be done. I think my DH is going to have to cook dinner though as he'll likely want a feed as soon as we get home

I've been doing this since dd wad 10 months. She had a bf first thing then a bottle of formula at nursery and then a bf before bed. My supply adjusted within a a week or so, although I did cut down before I actually started back at work as didn't want to be leaky and sore when trying to get back into work etc

Yes, you can keep feeding :)

Just feed as normal when you're together, and have other carera offer drinks in sippy cups or similar when you're not together.

I went back to work FT when DTs were 12 months and kept feeding until 2yrs6mo and 2yrs9mo, when they decided to stop themselves.

I think they may have fed for longer if I hadn't been back at work, but who knows?

I have been back at work 5 days a week since DS was six months and have carried on bfing mornings evenings and nights since with no problems. It can be done!

I managed it, working 13hr shifts, much to my surprise.
DD1 was 9 months old when I went back to work. Initially I got up at 5.30am, fed her while she was still asleep, then she would usually have a feed when I got home t 9.30 pm. I had never managed to express milk for her and there wouldn't have been time at work anyway (there isn't always time to at at my work, nevermind anything else). I carried on breastfeeding her when I was at home until she was 2.8yrs hen she decided to stop.

I think at 9 months this will not be a problem for you. I had stopped pumping in the day at this age, and just fed on demand for weekends, mornings, nights and days off, and I work 5 long days a week.
