Hi my 5 week old is ebf and really content during the day feeds every 2 to 3 hours during the day until about 6 pm when she feeds pretty much constantly until 9 ish when she just crys there doesn't seem to be any soothing her. This lasts approx an hour then she is back to her normal self. Any suggestions of what could be causing it?

Does she not want to keep feeding after 9pm then? Do you mean she stops feeding, but doesn't want to sleep or feed? Wind? Over-tired?

Tiredness?
Babies tend to get tired around 5pm (the witching hour), and don't know how to wind down by themselves yet. The feeding marathon 6-9pm might be indicative of trying to relax and go to sleep.
What is your nap/nighttime sleep schedule, if any?

Sounds like cluster feeding & then getting over tired.

Thanks everyone we don't have a routine during the day she just feeds and sleeps as she likes. Should we be aiming for a routine to save her getting over tired?

Bonemeal recovery from cluster feeding, it will settle:)

Not really at 5 weeks. Just roll with it! Smile
