Drying up?

Hi. DS is 10mths and on 2-3 bfs a day.

I had D&V on Thurs night, as did DS. I have tried to feed him today, but get the feeling that my milk supply is very low. As his appetite might be suppressed too at this time, I'm worried my milk might be drying up.

haven't been able to eat much today myself, although had a small dinner this evening.

Can I do anything other than eating heartily again once I feel up to it to increase milk supply?

Feeding him more often (if he'll accept it) is the best way.

just keep feeding him. your milk supply will easily increase alongside his appetite (and yours). it is well established.

Thanks for your encouragement. Have offered him the boob 4 times today, and he seems to tolerate it better than our attempts to get him to take any solids. According to the kellymom.com site it is the best thing to give even a baby with gastoenteritis.

Boobs also feel a bit fuller this evening. Thanks again. It is horrible when your baby is sick, but at least this way I feel I can offer him some comfort and liquids!
