I just want to know how your periods were when they came back?

Ds is 23 weeks old and still bf, my af came back 4 weeks ago meaning i should have come on this morning, but i've not. It is now and then a day late but not been very carefull, a bit hit and miss (getting carried away on the sofa) and not gone on the pill as we want to try again after christmas.

My last af was a week long when they have always been about 4 days.

Dont think i am pg again (well hope not)!

Mine were very irregular when they came back. Sometimes they were a couple of weeks late or I would even miss one completely. They tend not to become regular again until I stop bf'ing altogether.

I had one period when dd1 was 5 months, then nothing. I did ask hv if irregular periods were normal and was reassured that they can be, particularly if you are still bf.
I was pregnant though.

jennster · 29/09/2006 20:59

I have been off the pill now for 2 months and dd is 8months. I still haven't had a period yet though which is annoying because we are wanting to try again. I think it can be quite hit and miss when you get periods while still breastfeeding. That doesn't mean you haven't ovulated this month though! Take a pregnancy test just in case and good luck.

ds2 is 19 months and still no period...

littlepiggie · 29/09/2006 21:04

Hope i am not oops, should have thought about that!
Not going to do a test just yet though, think i will give it a few weeks.
BF, when did you realise you were pg?

If i had not had an af, would not even be thinking about it.

I know LOADS of people who have got pregnant while fully breastfeeding and never having had an af.

littlepiggie · 29/09/2006 22:22

How do they know they are pg? The only thing i had while first pg was tired, but ds has been up every night 2-4 times, so tired anyway.

unexplained stomach pains, nausea, 'knackeredness' (I suppose is possible if have the angel that sleeps through) weight gain, could your boobs get any bigger?

BarefootJasnem · 29/09/2006 22:35

I was even more tired! I stopped bf when she was 8 months and I'd started feeling sick and did a test. (I never had morning sickness any other time and it stopped once I realised I was pregnant)

littlepiggie · 29/09/2006 22:58

Boobs the same, a bit of what feels like period pains that have come and gone, but no af. (had that with ds for a week before af due)

On the boobs thing, gone to a 34 f while bf so dont think they will get much bigger.

Still no af, should i stop worrying as not showing sighns of been pg?

Don't worry. If you are really worried take a test. The consensus on other threads is that Tesco's own brand are the best (even better than Clearblue) and very cheap too.
