Was this the formula?

DS is 7 months and I've been out twice this week leaving DH to put him to bed. I hate expressing and now he is weaned it seems pointless continuing to express so I left a carton of Hipp Growing Up Milk.

DS drank it all and went to bed but on both occasions woke 3 times through the night crying for milk instead of the usual once. He was really shouting.

Could this be the formula? It seems too much of a coincidence. I used Hipp with DD when I needed to leave her rather than express with no problems.

Any chance another formula might be gentler or do I need to express like mad for a wedding we are going to on Saturday?

I should add he went back to waking once the nights he just had breastmilk.

Gah. STILL drip feeding. He is fine with cow's milk which he has in his porridge and in omelettes, cheese sauce etc.

I'd just buy a few of those small cartons and try him on a different one next time. I suppose also with bm you don't know exactly how much he is having (that sent me insane tbh). Does he drain the formula bottle - if so offer more - I was once told that with a bottle whether bm or formula there should be a little bit left in the bottom.

I've just checked, and Growing Up milk is for 12 months plus (so, effectively, it's for nobody, as regular cow's milk is also for 12 months plus). For a seven-month old, it's better to give him regular baby formula (ideally not the Follow On stuff).

Get the stage one formula of various types and try them. You can get small bottles of Aptamil and SMA (and probably the others too). Growing up stuff is for 12 months plus and pointless

It was the stage 3. Whatever they call the 6-12 month milk. It was definitely ok for his age as I read the packet but perhaps he would be better with infant milk notquitecockney?

andcake DH said he drank it all (210ml). He seemed to really like it where he fusses with expressed milk.

I think I will do that littlebearpod.

Checked and they call it 'follow on milk'.
