Just wondering what people's experiences are in relation to my situation. About 10 days ago my now 3 week old dd developed oral thrush and had a bad time with latching and feeding. We've both been treated for this. By Thursday last week my nipples and boobs were in a fair amount of discomfort. By Saturday it was confined to my right boob and boob was red, solid, extremely tender and excruciating to feed with. But I continued to do so as much as possible. I also starting having chills and not feeling great. Unfortunately I couldn't rest as it was my brother's wedding and then on Sunday a huge and long awaited family lunch. I took myself off and fed as much as necessary - I didn't rush feeds. Saturday evening I had a breakthrough - a feed with no pain whatsoever. So it struck me that it was a latch issue which we have now resolved. The little lumps and bumps have gone away and most of the tenderness. However it feels like there is some deeper inflammation and tenderness and today started well but now I'm feeling chilly and unwell again. Here are my questions...in people's experience will the redness and pain and ill-feeling pass as it improves or do you think I should seek medical help for anti-b's of it's mastitis? Of course if I feel really poorly I will anyway, but am I expecting too much to feel totally better immediately? I'm hoping that some of you have some experience or advice, which I know carries the caveat of seeling medical assistance if I feel really unwell! TIA x

It's not something to mess around with. I phoned out of hours GP thinking I was being dramatic and he didn't hesitate in prescribing anti-b's over the phone and faxed it over to Boots. The fact this is your second time feeling unwell tells me you need to get GP advice ASAP. Thanks
