Ranitidine - change in spit up

DS, 7 weeks, was prescribed Ranitidine and we started Tuesday afternoon.

His spit up after feeds has changed from watery looking with what looks like curtled/half digested milk and today is now thick and white/cream coloured throughout. This spit up seems to make him choke and gag a little which is scary to me

He also came down with his first cold today. So I'm not sure if he's maybe swallowing mucus and that is affecting the spit up and it has nothing to do with the medicine?

I'm not sure what kind of help i'm looking for - maybe just to see if this has happened to anyone else?
